LearningMate’s GoClass+ Named SIIA Education CODiE Award Finalist for Best Educational App for a Mobile Device

GoClass Earns Prestigious Education Industry Recognition.

LearningMate Solutions, the world’s leading supplier of content and technology solutions for the education market, announced today that GoClass, its teaching and learning application for tablets, smartphones and PCs, was named a finalist for the 2014 SIIA Education CODiE Awards for the Best Educational App for a Mobile Device category. The SIIA CODiE Awards are the premier awards for the software and information industries, and have been recognizing product excellence for 29 years.

This year’s program features 31 Education categories, several of which are new or updated to reflect the latest industry trends and business models. Winners will be announced during a special awards dinner at the nation’s leading education technology conference, the Education Industry Summit, in San Francisco on Tuesday, May 13.

As an increasing number of cloud-based learning applications enter the market with the promise of helping teachers increase engagement among learners, GoClass+ is the first of its kind to take mobile learning to the next level by creating a blended mobile learning environment that captures lesson content and interactions shared within class and records and links them directly to each student’s account for anytime, anywhere access on a multitude of devices including tablets, smartphones, PCs and, connected televisions.

“The GoClass+ team is honored to be included in this list of outstanding learning applications. We are inspired by teachers and students who push the envelope of teaching and learning models in our classrooms around the world,” said Mohit Bhargava, LearningMate Solutions President, “This recognition is a validation of what teachers, students and engineers can accomplish when they work together to develop technologies for tomorrow that can be used in classrooms today.”

Using GoClass+, teachers can guide students through a participatory, hands-on learning experience incorporating interactive media, videos, web applications, assessments and more. They can assign homework and schedule corresponding due dates or implement a flipped teaching model allowing them to better prepare students for in-class discussions and create more time to devote to one-on-one instruction to help struggling learners.

“This year’s finalists are breaking ground with new business models and innovative products. We are pleased to recognize the best in educational technology with these 119 products,” said Karen Billings, vice president of the SIIA Education Division. “I look forward to honoring them all in May at the Education Industry Summit.”
