Life At LearningMate

I started working with LearningMate eight months ago, first as a freelance consultant and then as a full-time employee. From the interview through onboarding, everything was seamless, and I was able to quickly integrate into the firm. LearningMate’s greatest asset is its employees. I knew I was joining a talented team with a real love for teaching and learning from the beginning.

LearningMate exemplifies a winning culture and consistently invests in its workers. Just as so, I was trusted with the opportunity to lead some of the key accounts at the very early stages of my career. Working at LearningMate is also excellent since there is always something challenging going on, and every day is loaded with fresh learning possibilities. I never get weary of working in such an exciting setting. I am honored to work with a firm that is advancing education through digital means.

With a Ph.D. in literature and about 5 years of face-to-face teaching experience at a university, I wanted to do something more significant and relevant in the field of teaching and learning. Midway through my time as an Instructional Designer, I transformed into a Project Management position! At LearningMate, challenges turn into opportunities, and you must seize them with both hands! Working on hundreds of thousands of courses in the higher education domain using the most up-to-date LMS technology, partnering with many top universities and helping them stay relevant in the ever-changing EdTech space, and touching the lives of millions of students through the partner institutions.

I started as a Web Developer two decades ago and have watched us develop from a start-up to one of the most creative Ed-tech solution providers in the world. I’ve had the honor of working with some of the world’s most prestigious companies, the majority of which have been with us since the inception. We have the vision and plan to innovate and adapt; and we spend our blood, sweat, and tears to stay on top of our game. Our work culture, however, distinguishes us. Success is important to us, and we cherish it. Failure is something that we accept and honor. The flexibility to unlearn, make errors, fall, and rise again is at the heart of our values system.

I interact with teams in India and the United States on a regular basis, coordinating work assignments and facilitating communication between the two continents. What never ceases to astonish me is each team member’s commitment to delivering a high-quality product and their sense of pride in their job. If a problem arises, we get together in virtual meetings to brainstorm solutions and make it happen. There are so many great people at LM who genuinely care about and respect their coworkers, and I know this sounds corny, but it makes us feel like one big family, whether we’re in the United States or India, and it’s made us stronger through these hard times.

Right from day one at LearningMate, I have been fortunate to be surrounded by immediate superiors who have helped me broaden my vision to align with the company’s goals and contribute for the greater good. The transparency in the organizational goals and strategy sets clear expectations of employee behavior and ownership. I have magnificently witnessed my contributions and talent getting honored which is such a distinct attribute for great employee engagement. It gives me immense satisfaction to work for an organization where the leaders and the team live up to the values.

Every employee, regardless of their position, is given the opportunity to be heard at LearningMate. It’s a business with a cutting-edge, forward-thinking strategy that sets it apart from the competition. I’ve worked with LM for over four years and have noticed many changes in myself as a professional. Over the years, I’ve witnessed numerous changes in the company, all of which have been for the better, since the leadership is dedicated to making LM a success story! As a resource manager, I’ve always had the opportunity to connect with all employees at all levels of the company, and I must say that it’s helped me tremendously.

LearningMate is a rewarding place to work, committed to delivering engaging ed-tech products and services that resonate with educators and make customers and end-users successful. I have had the privilege of working with LearningMate for 15 years, still see the same passion and focus to do the best and better it every time. Trust, respect, and creativity are what teams are made up of. Leaders are guides, enablers, and strategists, and the teams are innovators and managers of high-quality outputs, it is a fantastic partnership. Being here is getting new opportunities, opening new career journeys, enjoying the comfort of supporting teams, and always having exciting goals to look forward to.

Prior to beginning my internship, LearningMate management took time to know exactly what I wanted to achieve in my internship and personalized my summer program with a focus in management consulting or corporate strategy. The 12-week project involved assessing how to make highly successful, effective, and engaging online courses, requiring multiple deliverables and presenting my findings. I was fortunate to work with many LearningMate colleagues who helped me learn how to break down the question, create an effective research strategy, compile data and create relevant findings, and to present my overall research methodology, findings, and recommendations in an organized and meaningful way. This internship allowed me to develop a better understanding of the EdTech industry, and gave me the opportunity to learn common research and problem solving strategies in the business world.
